My grandmother made these for every holiday gathering as a dinner roll. My family now looks forward to making these for every gathering.
Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 cake yeast packet
- 1 cup scalded milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 beaten eggs
- 3 1/4 cups flour
Assembly:
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup raisins
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups pecan halves, divided (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Combine dough ingredients and let rise until twice its bulk (approx 2 hrs).
- Roll out quite thin and brush with melted butter then sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and pecans.
- Roll up and slice off in 1 inch pieces.
- Place 1/2 teaspoon of melted butter and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar in muffin tins before placing dough in, then bake for approx 15 minutes. Turn out immediately when done.
