Meet Our September Creative Crushes

At DoubleShot Creative, we share our favorite creative inspirations, from marketing campaigns, to social media posts, design trends, and that inspires us to push the boundaries of creativity. When you witness someone else’s creative genius, it can often inspire you to tap into yours. So, let’s lose ourselves in these creative marketing examples for a few minutes and look at some of our most recent creative crushes this month.

Stanford University email promoting an upcoming football game. Stanford tree icon, illustrated drawing of palm trees. Picture of Stanford gear in arch window

Talk about a design that grabs your attention and doesn’t let go!  We love how Stanford brings recognizable campus icons like the palm trees, arches or bell tower into their email designs as background sketch elements.  They offer a sense of motion which feels perfect for promoting sports events. They even carry the design elements into the Jumbotron at games.

Wow, Boubou Niang’s artistic genius amazed us completely! From tennis rackets to bikes, he turns the most unexpected items into his paintbrushes, creating mind-bending upside-down portraits that are pure magic. His art proves that thinking outside the box isn’t just fun—it can be revolutionary.  It’s also a reminder of how creativity and collaboration can bring new energy and fresh ideas to any project, including your marketing plans.  You can’t help but feel inspired to ignite your own creativity and see where it takes you!

Paralympic colorful eye mask on an olympic runner. Blue butterfly

The creativity behind Paralympic eye masks has us totally impressed! These eye shades not only ensure all athletes have equitable visual acuity during competition; they’re a mix of art and function. Some masks are sleek and straightforward, while others have bold designs that pump up the athletes. It’s all about leveling the playing field, but with a fun, personal touch that reflects their energy and spirit. And we’re always here to blend function with creativity! These masks are like mini works of art, helping athletes get in the zone and ready to crush it! What would your mask look like?

Kevin Burg & Jamie Beck for Armani

This might be the biggest crush of all—cinemagraphs!  Is it a picture or a video – that’s the magic!  These mesmerizing moving images from Kevin Burg & Jamie Beck have a way of drawing you in, taking you right to the heart of the moment. They whisper to your imagination, making you feel like you’re actually there. With just a subtle hint of motion, they bring still images to life, turning everyday scenes into inspiring, immersive experiences. It’s an art that moves—literally and emotionally!

Behind the scenes, look at video shorts. Yes, please! Katy Ross takes us on a creative journey, blending storytelling and raw emotion in a way that only she can. Her video shorts are like little windows into big feelings—capturing vulnerability, courage, and connection. It’s amazing how she can inspire and move you in just a few seconds. We loved this one she did for Brené Brown’s presentation at the RSA, 10 years ago.  That’s the power of marketing—telling a story that sticks with you long after you’ve watched!
