How brands activated football fans.

This year’s Super Bowl festivities did not disappoint. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira brought female power to the halftime stage. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers (only one of our team members was happy about that). The commercials brought the LOLs.

Today, we’re focusing on the brands that took over Miami with experiential marketing to win the hearts of football fans. We’re breaking them all down for you in our version of X’s and O’s.

As Will Smith once sang, ¡bienvenidos a Miami!

Budweiser

What would the Super Bowl be without a beer company? While Budweiser always has a presence at the Super Bowl, this year was different. The company invited 200 “kings of culture” from 20 different countries, each with more than one million social media followers. The “kings” stayed at the “BudX Hotel” in South Beach for three days leading up to the big game. If the 250-room hotel property and waterfront mansion weren’t enough, influencers enjoyed concerts headlined by Halsey, Black Eyed Peas, Diplo, and more.

Cheers to the agencies who created this magic: Deutsch, WINK, Octagon, and Virtue.

Procter and Gamble

Friendly game of Hungry, Hungry Hippo, anyone? That is exactly what the consumer goods company was asking at the Super Bowl this year. At their Fumble Frenzy activation, fans tried to recover as many “fumbles” as they could in order to win a $100 Amazon gift card.

Kudos to Allied Experiential for bringing one of our childhood favorite’s to life!

Stella Artois

Lastly, what’s Miami without a little luxury? Okay, a lot of luxury. The company created a European-style Festival allowing Super Bowl goers to “taste, touch, and arrive in style”.

Taking over Wharf Miami for three days, Port de Stella Miami offered complimentary boat rides on VanDutch-branded yachts and music performances from artists Sofi Tukker and DJ Irie, plus panels with celebrity guests including Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Queer Eye’s Karamo. Some of the most sought after dining experiences in the world were also included with one-night dinners curated by chef Rosio Sanchez of Sánchez Cantina in Copenhagen and Nabil Hadj Hassen of Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina in Rome. Sounds like a dream to us!

Bowing down to experiential marketing agency to Mosaic for producing this epic event.
